Frames are a critical component to all assemblies and considered the basic building block. If something is out of tolerance or missing on the frame, there is no going back to correct it without a lot of rework and time.
In the example below, an automotive supplier was providing frames to multiple automobile manufacturers and wanted to have part information for every frame produced. They feared being charged rework cost if they delivered a bad part and damaging their supplier relationship.
