In the example below, an automotive manufacturer used Perceptron gripper-mounted sensors to optimize the position of a windshield to the window opening.
Glass decking process:
Robot position is adjusted to pick up the window correctly
Glass is picked up by gripper and presented for glue application
Window opening is measured and robot inserts glass for ideal fit
Gripper releases glass
Final glass position in opening is measured
Robot returns to home position
